NT Agent for Xi-Batch

The NT Agent provides for interoperability of scheduling between Unix and Windows NT / 95 / 98 / 2000 systems.

When used in conjunction with Xi-Batch running on a Unix system, the Xi-Batch NT Agent provides:
  • Full function batch job scheduling across TCP/IP networked UNIX and NT systems.
  • No limit to the number of UNIX and NT systems involved.
The Xi-Batch NT Agent consists of two components. One is installed on the Unix system running Xi-Batch and the other is installed on the client Windows NT system.

With Xi-Batch NT Agent, it is possible to submit jobs to run on remote Windows clients, from Xi-Batch running on the Unix system or from the Windows NT clients.

The submitted jobs will appear on the Xi-Batch Job Queue and can be edited, viewed and managed in the same way as jobs submitted to run under Unix. The Status of jobs will appear on the Job Queue as with other jobs.

Dependency scheduling on Windows systems can be easily implemented. For example, the Windows system job exit code can be passed to the Unix host or another Windows client for action, e.g. to trigger a dependency.

Submitted jobs can be broadcast to a number of Windows clients.
